Berkshire Physiotherapy
We are well known in Berkshire for providing physio for over 30 years, offering Physiotherapy, Massage & Personal Training. By doing simple hands on physio treatments we get great, long term results getting you better, staying better, back to full function and managing your symptoms. Our team have the experience and expertise to work with you. I can't recommend Berkshire Physio enough.

I had had what I thought was tendinitis in my elbow for two years and had completely stopped working out, but the pain was still there. I finally decided to visit the physio, not honestly thinking much could be done. From the first session all the staff I met were brilliant. It turns out I had misdiagnosed myself and I was given treatments and exercises to do to address the issue.

I did exactly as I was instructed after my sessions and was amazed by the progress I made.
Services
Berkshire Physiotherapy is a private physiotherapy clinic set up in Reading 35 years ago by Jim, and later, Carol Adkins.
Berkshire Physiotherapy has seen three generations involved in its organisation and so we can truly call ourselves a family run business.
Many of our patients have remained with us for years and we pride ourselves that we have treated their families too, from babies to grandparents.
We aim to give you a warm friendly welcome as well as professional treatment and enough information to help you understand your condition.
Pain, stiffness and discomfort may be some of the symptoms you are experiencing when you visit us and your therapist will ask you a series of questions related to your problems, work and activities to help diagnose your current problem.
A detailed physical examination will follow.
Your therapist will explain the diagnosis and discuss with you your personal treatment plan.
A full range of treatments is available including manipulation, mobilisation, massage, electrical treatment such as ultrasound & laser and usually a course of exercises.
Treatment is dynamic, task orientated and meaningful and we can help with improvement long after injury.
If you have difficulty getting to the clinic we can visit you at your home, residential or nursing home.
Treatment is specific to you, and may include stretching, strengthening, balance and walking practise, postural awareness and control.
We can give advice on suitable walking aids, home adaptations, equipment and seating.
The majority of patients are seen once or twice a week and complete a home exercise programme between treatment sessions.
The benefits of massage are extensive and massage can aid the treatment of injury or disease by skilful manipulation of soft tissue.
It relieves pain and spasm, helps reduce fluid retention, stretches tight tendons and increases blood supply.
It certainly gives a feeling of well-being.
All our massage therapists have more than one professional qualification and are trained by our physio team to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Personal training sessions take place within our gym, where there is a relaxed atmosphere, and with every session aiming to be different and fun achieving your goals can be easy.
Our Personal Trainers are involved in 1:1 exercise prescription and instruction, and motivate our patients by setting goals and providing helpful feedback.
Strengths and weaknesses are also measured with fitness assessments and education and with personalised guidance you can push yourself further than you ever thought you could.
