Established in 1996 by Rodger Duckworth, the Practice has grown over the years and now consists of a strong team of Chartered Physiotherapists, all of whom have a common belief in a "hands-on" / manual treatment approach. We are known as specialists in spinal and knee problems - although each individual physiotherapist has their own particular areas of specialism, which means we can offer specialist attention to suit your needs.

Within the clinic, we stock therapy equipment for purchase including wheat bags, posture cushions, wobble boards, gym balls, TENS machines, and other supports. We are more than happy to source specific items for you should we not have them on site. Due to our combined wealth of knowledge and experience, we are able to provide high-quality treatment for all musculoskeletal problems and other various conditions.

Here at the Rodger Duckworth Physiotherapy Practice, we aim to be at the forefront of our profession and pride ourselves on our attention to detail, we place your needs as our prime goal.

Pain can be referred from muscles joints and nerves to various places in your body.
Commonly a problem with your neck could give you pain in your arm or pain in the leg from the lower back.
It is estimated that between 80 and 100% of the population will suffer at least one episode of neck or back pain in their lifetime.
Research is in agreement that manual therapy, exercise and education is beneficial and "best practice" for back and neck problems.
Dizziness, spinning and unsteadiness are common symptoms reported by adults and these can result from a vestibular, inner ear, disorder.
There are many causes of dizziness and getting the correct diagnosis is key to effective treatment.
Physiotherapy assessment can help diagnose a cause of dizziness and screen for any other causes such as neurological and cardiovascular causes.
Common vestibular disorders include Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), Neuritis such as Labyrinthitis, migraine associated vertigo, Meniere's disease and ischaemic vertigo.
The Mummy MOT, founded by Maria Elliot, is an in-depth postnatal assessment that assesses the strength, activation, and function of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles following childbirth.
Performed by a Specialist Post Natal Health Physiotherapist it is recommended for all women following delivery.
After having a baby most women will experience weakness in their tummy or pelvic floor muscles, which creates instability and poor core strength.
This can result in an altered transfer load, back pain, pelvic pain, bladder and bowel weakness.
Myofascial release is now very popular and is not a new idea although it has gained great popularity in recent years.
Rodger began considering the fascial system as a source of pain, mechanical dysfunction, and ill health almost 20 years ago and has trained with world leaders such as John F Barnes and Stephen Goldstein.
Rodger trains all his team on many topics on an ongoing basis but the myofascial approach is widely accepted amongst his team as they see the benefits of such a holistic treatment.
Tempero-mandibular Joint Disfunction (TMJD) can be a very painful and troublesome condition and varies in how it presents.
It is not something which physiotherapists receive training in how to treat during their routine training and requires physiotherapists with a particular interest and further training and skills to treat.
Rodger has had such training and interest.
It is commonly associated with stress in young females particularly and also following car accidents or as a result of dental/orthodontic work.
