We aim to provide you with a fast but accurate diagnosis upon your first visit so that you leave with a treatment and recovery plan that is right for you, your injury and lifestyle.
While many people are aware that their posture is poor they simply don't know how to deal with it, meaning that often it is not addressed until it starts to give us pain.
We recommend taking a good look at your work station, even if it has been checked; be honest about whether its current set-up is working for you.
If when sitting perched on the edge of your chair your feet are reaching the floor that is a clear sign that the set-up is not working for you.
At the Physiotherapy Clinic we can assess and check whether the increased pain is being generated by an old injury or by an underlying problem.
If you suffer an injury such as a sprain, strain, muscle pull, or tear, immediate first aid can prevent complications, helping you heal faster.
The initial aim of RICE is to stop the bleeding and therefore minimize tissue damage.
You need to ensure there is a minimum delay for a successful recovery.
The tissues are likely to be torn, bleeding and unstable, further stress as well as massage or manipulation should be avoided as an increase in bleeding may occur.
REST is therefore recommended for the first 24 hours.
Position as picture, with or without weights in hand, flex the front knew to 60 degrees and make sure you keep this knee over the second toe.
Your knee must not deviate inwards and must keep your body upright.
Use the second step of a flight of stairs.
Start with the arms by your side but elbows flexed to 90 degrees.
Step on to the second step with one leg, keep that knee over the second toe.
Then flex up the opposite hip and knee to 90 degrees while pulling the same arm behind you and the opposite arm in front of you in a marching action.
