Services
As physiotherapists the team at GW Physiotherapy work with patients to aid their recovery from pain and injury in order to restore movement and function to as high a level as possible.
Before you receive any treatment or advice, a GW physiotherapist will discuss the nature of your problem and with your consent, carry out a thorough examination.
This will take between 45-60 minutes.
We can then decide whether physiotherapy is appropriate and devise an individualised treatment plan.
GW Physiotherapists offer evidence based treatment encompassing a wide range of techniques including massage, mobilisations and exercise based rehabilitation.
Through working in the NHS, private healthcare and medico-legal sectors the physiotherapists at GW Physiotherapy have a broad range of experience in treating neck, lower back and thoracic spine pain and injury; including post-surgical conditions and the ante and post natal spine.
We use a wide range of techniques including mobilisations, muscle energy techniques, stretches, exercise, McKenzie regimens and Pilates (both one-to-one and group based) to relieve pain, restore movement, strengthen and stabilise the spine to optimise recovery.
Pilates is a form of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates (1880-1967).
It offers mind and body conditioning focusing on core strength, co-ordination, flexibility and posture, using a range of mat and equipment based exercise.
Pilates achieves this through engaging the deep postural and stabilising muscles.
More recently Pilates has been adapted for use in the management of a range of musculoskeletal conditions, to improve health and well-being, as well as for athletes, professional sports people and fitness enthusiasts.
