As one of the leading sports physiotherapists in Lancing (and indeed the south-east) Louis Jones is evolving the concept of body health to one of holistic wellbeing. His mission is not just to treat injuries once they occur, but to inspire people to maintain and improve their overall fitness, thereby preventing damage in the first place.
Through his brand new private practice in the heart of Lancing, opposite the county FA headquarters, Louis treats sporting injuries and provides effective pain relief through both targeted physiotherapy and acupuncture. His vision is to expand into a holistic practice that encompasses all aspects of health, to inspire change and promote better living.
Louis' passion for sports and fitness began at an early age - at just 12 years old he was competing at national level in track and field athletics, cross country and road running and was playing football at Sunday league level. During this time he developed his first sporting injury, which led him to Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club physio, Malcolm Stuart at the Goldstone Ground.

Acupuncture was developed as an ancient Chinese medicine dating back to over 10,000 years ago.
It uses extremely fine needles to pierce the skin and stimulate points on the body, which the Chinese considered to be meridian points, to help treat disease and reduce pain.
The image on the right shows the Chinese meridian system for acupuncture points, which correlates to organs of the body.
In Western medicine, there is no evidence that these meridian lines exist as they cannot be shown on MRI or other diagnostic imaging methods, but we still refer to these points when treating various pathologies.

One of the most common problems that people suffer from is back and neck pain.
Whether it be an acute attack of pain from bending over to lift a heavy object, a whiplash injury from an unfortunate road traffic accident (RTA), or a chronic tension in your back and neck muscles from sitting for hours at a computer, we can help ease your symptoms and the underlying causes.
Being one of the major referral issues from most major insurers, we see a large number of back and neck pain sufferers on a daily basis.

Here at Louis Jones we offer a service specifically targeting injured cyclists.
We are not a traditional bike fitting service, like the kind you would expect to receive at a bike store.
We are interested in the root cause of your injury, and how you and your bike synchronise.
Although performance is important, our focus is on finding your optimal position for comfort and efficiency.
Many of our clients who become pain free, also notice a significant improvement in cycling economy and reduction in effort.

Electrotherapy is an umbrella term used to describe different modalities, which use electrical energy as a therapeutic treatment.
At Louis Jones Physiotherapy we use 3 types of electrotherapy, Ultrasound and Interferential and TENS.
It has been shown through various studies, that using electrotherapy can speed up soft tissue healing and reduce pain.
Ultrasound falls into electrotherapy, but uses mechanical energy to vibrate soft tissue, which in turn increases blood flow, soft tissue relaxation and scar tissue breakdown.

Here at Louis Jones Physiotherapy, one very important aspect of helping our clients to overcome injuries and rehabilitate to full health, is to prescribe exercises that focus on important key areas, such as mobility, stability and strength.
Once we have diagnosed your issue, and formed a treatment plan, we will need to address mobility, stability and strength to assist your recovery towards full function so that you can get back to normality as soon as possible, and more importantly avoid any further occurrences of your problem in future.
