Moore Associates Physiotherapy
We are experienced Chartered Physiotherapists who have enjoyed caring for both NHS & private sector patients in predominantly neuromusculoskeletal and older persons care. Combining academic, research and clinical expertise into our work, you can be sure we are commited to providing evidence-based care that also respects your wishes and clinical needs.

We are passionate about helping our patients feel confident and happy to move for work, sports and everyday life. Identifying the cause of your movement problems, collaborating with you on the plan of treatment and seeing results - this is our passion. Catherine has over 20 years of experience of treating patients with musculoskeletal pain syndromes in the NHS, private sector and lecturing within higher education.

Her passion is empowering patients to become independent in the management of their pain and facilitating movement to its optimum. Owen has previously worked in the NHS for over 21 years as well as the private sector. His primary interests are the diagnosis and treatment of movement impairment syndromes and precision movement fitness.

This is our approach to combining our extensive experience & a committed hands-on approach as an assessment tool to establish underlying soft tissue problems.
It can be used for many common musculoskeletal problems such as calf strain, hamstring strain, neck strain and low back strain.
Unlike instrumented soft tissue massage (ISTM), where the clinician is unable to feel the compliance and response of the tissues, diagnostic soft tissue mobilisation gives both you and your physiotherapist valuable feedback on what is happening below the surface of the skin.
Tennis elbow (labelled Lawn Tennis Arm in 1882!) is caused by a musculotendinous strain to tendons in the outsidse of the forearm.
The tendons become painful where they join the bony part on the outside of your elbow joint.
Any activity that involves gripping and twisting of the forearm can cause this type of strain - most cases aren't actually related to tennis or any kind of exercise.
It is a fair judgement to state that the approach to treatment of this condition (up to 3% of adult population) is variable and hotly debated.
Physiotherapy is recommended for the management of low back pain.

What can I do to help myself?
I suggest taking a moment, before contacting a Doctor or Chartered Physiotherapist, to understand that back pain is a symptom.
Back pain is not a diagnosis.
2. "When we hear the sound of hoofbeats, think horses - not zebras."
Back pain is common but it is not normal.
There is a cause.
It is not in your head.
