Progressive Physiotherapy
Progressive Physiotherapy was founded in 2006 by highly experienced Chartered Physiotherapists Susie Yardley and Claudia Hughes. We are all experienced, professional Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, each with our own specialist areas and interests. Our staff strive for clinical excellence across all aspects of care for our patients. We offer a holistic approach that goes beyond simply treating an injury.

Our ability to co-ordinate a range of professional expertise means you receive the most appropriate treatment for your injury and therefore ensure timely results. We understand that choosing the right physiotherapy clinic is important to you. You want a therapist who is professional, caring, knowledgeable and accessible. Someone willing to take time to go over all of your options and treat you as a person and not just a patient.

At Progressive Physiotherapy, we pride ourselves on our patient service. We offer highly-qualified staff combined with safe, proven procedures and the very latest in physiotherapy techniques, and with convenient car parking too.
Services
Our Main clinic is in East Challow and we also operate out of Wantage Health Centre, Mably Way, above the two main Wantage GP practices, Wantage Faringdon Road and Richmond Village, Letcombe Regis.
We also offer home visits for those who are unable to attend one of our clinics.
At Progressive Physiotherapy we treat Musculoskeletal problems including spinal and joint pain, sports injuries, arthritis, occupational related disorders and post-operative rehabilitation, in both Adults and Children.
Experience has enabled us to make sound judgments regarding the most effective way to treat pain and injury.
At Progressive Physiotherapy our treatments are designed to achieve, maintain and restore maximum functional ability and movement.
Here we know how important it is to discover the source of the problem.
This means we have extensive training to thoroughly assess, diagnose and treat the joint, muscle and nerve conditions that may be causing your problem.
We treat more than the pain - we treat the cause of the problem, so your pain and symptoms will resolve faster.
This can be achieved more efficiently with our highly qualified, experienced Chartered Physiotherapists.
Low back pain probably affects around one-third of the UK adult population each year and roughly 2.6 million of those in the UK seek advice about back pain from their GP.
The general approach to the treatment for acute low back pain is to stay active and to avoid bed rest, plus pain relieving medications such as paracetamol or NSAIDs (non steroidal anti inflammatories).
Here are a few important messages from the guidance that may help you to choose the right treatment for your low back pain.
The objective of any early management of low back pain from a Chartered Physiotherapist should be to improve your symptoms to prevent your episode from resulting in long-term withdrawal from normal activities, including sickness absence from work.
Sports injury treatment and rehabilitation or 'rehab' is a structured programme designed by physiotherapists for people who have sustained a sporting injury.
Depending on the type of injury you have sustained, your programme will include a number of parts which may include strengthening exercises, mobilising, pain relief techniques and functional skills.
At Progressive Physiotherapy, we aim to maximise recovery by tailoring the rehabilitation to your individual goals and monitoring your progress throughout.
Or call us on 01235 821800 to find out how our aqua therapy can help you recover and exercise.
Progressive Physiotherapy offers an aquatic therapy service at Richmond village in Letcombe Regis.
Aquatic therapy or pool therapy is physiotherapy that is performed in the water.
It is a beneficial form of therapy that is useful for a variety of medical conditions.
Aquatic therapy uses the physical properties of water to assist in patient healing and exercise performance.
It aims to rehabilitate patients after injury or those with chronic illness, avoiding the amount of weight placed on the joints by exercise outside the water.
