Lavenham Physiotherapy & Acupuncture Clinic
Treatment is provided by Mrs. Hua Sands MSc MCSP MAACP, a Chartered Physiotherapist and member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, registered with the Health & Care Professions Council. Neuromusculoskeletal conditions are treated, such as low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, shoulder pain, osteoarthritis, hip, knee and other joint pains.

Also headaches, tightness and stiffness in neck and shoulder area from tension. Physiotherapy is science-based and takes a 'whole person' approach to health. Physiotherapists provide tailored exercise regimes, manual therapy and advice to treat joint, muscle and nerve pain and prevent it recurring. Over the years I have tried many therapies for my back pain, but this is the first time I have had prolonged relief, no analgesics since my second visit.

The treatment Hua has given me and the advice on how to manage my back pain have given me a new lease of life, from lifting, getting in and out of the car, her knowledge is extensive.
Services
Mrs. Hua Sands MSc MCSP MAACP is the practitioner at the Lavenham Physiotherapy & Acupuncture Clinic.
Hua was trained in acupuncture originally in China, where she also studied clinical medicine and worked in hospitals for five years.
She came to the UK in 1998, where she has since taken Masters degrees in Health Psychology and Physiotherapy, both with Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh.
After her degrees, Hua worked in the NHS in Norfolk and Suffolk, latterly as a Senior Physiotherapist, during which time she also undertook additional acupuncture training.
Physiotherapy aims to restore function and movement, and is primarily based around movement and exercise.
There is considerable scientific evidence for the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions in treating pain and restoring function, which is why, for example, exercises, self-management advice and manual therapy as part of the treatment package are recommended by NICE (National Institute for Clinic Excellence) for treatment of low back pain, sciatica and osteoarthritis.
Gentle Manual Therapy.
Hua also treats headaches, tightness and stiffness around the neck and shoulder area due to tension.

I am writing to let you know how successful your treatment of my frozen shoulder and persistent headaches has been.
I came to your clinic last February.
I carried out all your exercises for the frozen shoulder.
My shoulder is now perfect.
Also my headaches gradually melted away and for the last two months I have not had to take aspirin or any other painkiller of any type.
To have a neurological physiotherapist with such knowledge is invaluable.
Her enthusiasm for her work and the encouragement that she gives to her patients is incredible.
Her attention to detail is second to none, especially when giving acupuncture.
Following a very painful and disabling shoulder dislocation Hua's exercises and acupuncture treatment have effected a complete cure.
At my age (70's) I was not at all sure, at first, that this would be possible.
I am very grateful to her. Barbara Crawford, Bildeston.
The clinic is specifically fitted out to provide a high level of physiotherapy and acupuncture service, with advanced equipment in a clean, welcoming and relaxing environment.
The clinic is located at Unit 12, Lavenham Studios.
There is parking at Lavenham Studios and the clinic is located on the ground floor with pedestrian ramp access.
Please bring with you to your first appointment a list of any medication you are taking.
Please also wear loose fitting clothing as you may need to take off clothing for the assessment.
