Moira Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic
We were established in 1986 by Mrs. Hilary Stoddart and have been providing a quality, caring, friendly service to Moira and beyond ever since. We pride ourselves on helping our patients to achieve their specific rehabilitation goals within realistic time frames using the most up-to-date, evidence based methods. We are registered with the Organisation of Physiotherapists in Private Practice and linked with all major health insurance companies.

We receive referrals from consultants, G.Ps and self-referrals from patients themselves. Our Physiotherapists are fully registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (*HCPC). Our Physiotherapists are also registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and with Physio First.
Services
Hilary studied at University of Ulster and qualified with a BSc in Physiotherapy.
Initially she gained a broad based rotational experience within the NHS.
She worked for 2 years in paediatrics in Fleming Fulton working with children with varying levels of disability.
After a further 8 years working in the NHS in various musculoskeletal roles Hilary opened Moira Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in 1986, which was the first clinic of its kind in the Moira area.
The clinic has been going from strength to strength ever since.
Many people don't know whether Physiotherapy will help them, or what to expect.
Our FREE 10 minute consultation allows you the opportunity to ask questions and find out how it could benefit you.
This one-to-one FREE consultation could be used for a current problem, a recurrent problem or as a part of injury prevention plan.
If you are not sure whether it is Physiotherapy, massage or onward referral to other medical practitioners you need, we can give you sound, professional advice.
You can book your FREE consultation by contacting us on 02892612907 to organise a time that suits you best.
After an accident such as whiplash, due to sustained poor postures such as regular use of a computer, or as a result of wear and tear.
In some cases pain can be referred from the neck down into the shoulder or arm and hand.
In addition, headaches are often due to problems with the neck, which may be as a result of pain, stiffness or muscle tension in the neck and upper back.
We can identify why you have neck problems and help you overcome them.
Back pain is very common and can be very disabling and demoralising, as well as painful.
With a large percentage of the working population now desk-based in nature we are seeing more patients presenting to us with musculoskeletal disorders arising from poor posture and occupational injuries.
We offer a service to employers where we complete Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments with staff to reduce the risks of developing problems initially and promoting a healthier and safer working environment.
This will in turn help to reduce absenteeism for employers by improving employees' overall health and feeling of wellbeing, to keep them fit for work or return to work sooner following injury or illness.
Physio Led Pilates is a mind/body conditioning exercise programme targeting the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine to improve overall core stability & posture.
As you progress through a variety of exercises you will notice improved core strength, flexibility & movement control throughout your body.
As well as being a great way to exercise, this also helps with the long term relief of spinal and joint pain.
I trained in the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI) modified Pilates method in 2008.
