Services
At Bodytone we offer an extensive range of clinical therapy services tailored to your needs and rehabilitation goals.
Joint & Soft Tissue Injection Therapy We use injection therapy alongside our physiotherapy practice and this gives you the opportunity to engage in full rehabilitation and get back to fitness sooner.
When indicated, injections of steroid and local anesthetic can be very effective in reducing.
Nerve / Neurological Mobilisation Neural mobilisation, or neurodynamics, is a movement-based intervention aimed at restoring homeostasis in and around the nervous system.
Mobilisation & Manipulation are manual techniques used by our physios in order to improve the mobility and function of your soft tissues, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Manipulation is usually performed as a very fast, accurate movement on the neck or back area to provide pain relief and increase flexibility.
Often it's accompanied by a small "pop" or click as a result of the release of pressure.
Mobilisation is a slower technique performed on joints, ligaments, or muscles, and is also used for pain reduction and flexibility improvement.
The goal of any rehabilitation is to restore function to the greatest degree in the shortest time, helping people return to their function with minimal risk of re-injury.
While absolute rest and offloading may relieve symptoms, they are associated with negative potentials such as decreased tissue tolerance and increased tissue vulnerability in the future.
Understanding how tissues respond to physical stress and mechanical loading is helpful in achieving a balance between stabilising an injured tissue and avoiding detraining.
For both acupuncture and dry needling thin, stainless steel needles are inserted into the skin at strategic locations to treat pain.
Dry needling is a modern treatment designed to ease muscular pain.
During dry needling, a practitioner inserts several fine, short, stainless steel needles into your skin.
The needles are placed in "trigger points" in your muscle or tissue.
Dry needling is also sometimes called intramuscular stimulation.
The points are areas of knotted or hard muscle where the needle helps release the knot and relieve any muscle pain or spasms.
We use injection therapy alongside our physiotherapy practice and this gives you the opportunity to engage in full rehabilitation and get back to fitness sooner.
When indicated, injections of steroid and local anesthetic can be very effective in reducing joint/ soft tissue pain and dysfunction allowing you to fully rehabilitate.
In addition to steroid injections, we also offer injections of sodium hyaluronate (Ostenil) for joint and soft tissues.
This injection can increase the viscosity of something called synovial fluid within the painful joints and soft tissues, helping to restore its lubricating, shock-absorbing, and filtering properties.
