Synapse Physiotherapy offers specialised neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation. This can also be undertaken within your own home environment. Conditions are assessed and treated as appropriate, including Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Head & Spinal Cord Injury as well as well as some non-neurological conditions.

After an assessment of your current function, realistic goals will be discussed and a treament plan formulated. This may range from a course of intensive rehabilitation, to a monthly session to maintain physical ability. The main aim is to maximise functional ability within the limits of your condition. A wide range of physiotherapeutic approaches are used including exercise, 'hands on' facilitation, neuro pilates, PNF, balance re-education, muscle stretches, massage and electrical stimulation.

Advice on FES (Functional Electrical Stimulation) and Saeboflex are provided.

The Bioness H200 is an innovative rehabilitation technology designed to help clients with neurological disorders such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy and Spinal Cord Injury effecting the forearm, wrist and hand.
The Bioness H200 is an electronic wireless unit using electrical stimulation to help clients with mobility of the upper limb and independence.
The Bioness L300 Go System is a wireless FES (functional electrical stimulation) systems designed to improve walking speed and confidence.
Therapeutic ES (TES) utilises electrical stimulation of very specific muscles to aid in rehabilitation in conditions such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and acquired brain injury (ABI).
TES is used by the neuro physiotherapist to increase the activation of a specific muscle, to reduce weakness of the muscle, to use the physiological action of a weak muscle to stretch the stronger, tighter opposing muscle, to provide sensory feedback regarding the muscle action and to aid in rehabilitation of a more complex movement patterns.
SaeboGlove can assist with performing functional grasp & release of the hand.
It is a mechanical (non-electrical) orthosis.
SaeboGlove may be suitable in clients with a range of neurological disorders including Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
SeaboFlex is mechanical orthosis positioning the wrist and fingers in extension in preparation for functional activity.
The client is able to grasp objects by voluntarily flexing his or her fingers.
The extension spring system of SaeboFlex assists in re-opening the hand to release the object.
