Most patients are seen by self referral or following a recommendation by their GP or consultant.

Border Physio Clinic is registered with BUPA and all major health insurance companies. All patients are seen by appointment. As well as clients self-referring themselves we are also proud to be chosen to provide Physiotherapy for among others; The Scottish Institute of Sport, Police Scotland, The Scottish Ambulance Service, The Athlete Support Programme, The Department of Work and Pensions, Scottish Borders Council and Scottish Water.

Did you know we help rehabilitate clients every day after falls, fractures, car crashes and surgery? At Border Physio Clinic we have staff who have helped take athletes from day one of injury and after surgery, back to international and professional levels of fitness.

Physiotherapists strive to promote mobility, movement, strength and the ability to do things (known as function) through accurate examination, diagnosis, physical intervention and on-going evaluation.
Your first visit will last approximately an hour.
During this initial consultation, the clinician will take a detailed history from you and perform an examination.
There will also usually be time for some initial treatment.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing - shorts may be required.
A chaperone will be offered if required, or you are welcome to bring a friend or family member with you.
At Border Physio Clinic we have staff who have helped take athletes from day one of injury, and after surgery, back to international and professional levels of fitness.
We have experience of many different sports including rugby, football, golf, archery, cycling, curling, cricket and swimming to name a few.
Some have gone on to represent their countries at Olympic and Commonwealth level while still being involved with the clinic.
Most of us will not reach those dizzy heights, but just want to get back to normal life, hobbies or work after injury and we can help you achieve those goals.

Hydrotherapy (sometimes called aquatic therapy) uses the principles of water to allow exercise that would not be possible on land.
Buoyancy supports the weight of the body, relieving pain in joints and encouraging movement.
Increased temperature and hydrostatic pressure promote increases in circulation, flexibility and relaxation; and decreases in pain and swelling.
Water can also be used to give resistance to promote strength, and improves balance and coordination.
