At Physiotherapy In Chelsea we treat a wide range of conditions, ranging from lower back, neck/shoulder problems, and limb pains to sports injuries. Some problems will be related to long working hours and/or poor posture, while others will be due to sporting injuries. With many years experience in private Physiotherapy practice, we have treated a full complement of sports injuries for both amateur and professional athletes, as well as work-related conditions, for all age groups.
We have advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment in the treatment room, including Ultrasound Scanning to help diagnose soft tissue injuries and aid specific muscle exercises, and Shock Wave Therapy for treatment of chronic tendon and ligament problems. Through our network of Contacts we can refer patients to specialists should further assessment or intervention be needed.

I have always been interested in the body and what it is able to do.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by anatomy books and have been studying this topic ever since.
Via a stint of studying music history (it turned out that I had more interest than talent), I studied Physiotherapy in Denmark.
Places of work have included Sweden and Spain, before embarking on a post graduate Physiotherapy degree in the UK.
I have settled here and started Physiotherapy In Chelsea over 10 years ago.
I am still keen on music and take lessons - in addition to this I am a keen outdoors sportsman.

We offer both Diagnostic Ultrasound Scanning and Real Time Ultrasound Scanning, which can be great tools in aiding diagnosis of soft tissue injuries and specific muscle exercises respectively.
Ultrasound Scanning allows us to image an injury, helping establish the severity of sprains or tears of tendons, ligaments and muscles.
By scanning during the progress of an injury, we can accurately monitor healing and help determine when a return to exercise is safe.
Ultrasound Scanning can also be used in real time for muscle training, giving a patient instant visual feedback on when their muscles are working.

Shock Wave Therapy is a new technique used for treatment of conditions such as tennis elbow, heel spur (platar fasciitis), calcification of shoulder tendons (shoulder pain).
Conditions which are otherwise difficult to treat with conventional Physiotherapy and steroid injections.
A course of treatment usually requires three sessions, each taking About 45 - 60 minutes, which in addition to the treatment, includes advice on retraining of weak muscles related to the injury.
Pain relief can be experienced in the period immediately following the treatment and permanent results can be expected 8 - 12 weeks following the last session.
