Physiotherapy can help to maintain your independence, your confidence, your fitness and your social circles. CJM Physiotherapy has helped people with all sorts of conditions including long-term problems, sports injuries, and rehabilitation after surgery or accidents. Can you remember what it felt like to be free and easy in your movements? When you could do the things you wanted without pain?

A bad back was something you joked about rather than suffered from, and housemaid's knee was an old-fashioned term rather than the condition that's stopped you working? If you've got a health problem that's cramping your lifestyle, impacting your daily routine or causing pain, it's worth considering physiotherapy. In many cases, treatment can provide huge relief, reducing or eliminating pain, increasing mobility and improving function and strength.

Instead of struggling on, putting your symptoms down to age or bad luck, you can get back to work, or return to your favourite sports and hobbies. Our aim is simple - to restore normal body function and get you back to enjoying your life.
Services
CJM Physiotherapy was founded by Chris McManus in 1998.
Our practice is small with a big-hearted attitude: our therapeutic care is known to be excellent but it's our approach to our clients as individuals - not conditions - that makes the difference.
It gives us genuine pleasure to play our part in restoring your health.
Chris graduated from The University of Manchester and worked at Rochdale Infirmary and Birch Hill Hospital before opening the clinic in Tottington in 1998.
As a former professional squash player and a category one golfer, Chris has a keen interest in sports injuries.
It may be a condition that's been causing problems or discomfort for some time, or be a sudden onset of pain.
Maybe there's something that's no longer as easy for you to manage, or perhaps you're trying to cope with a loss of strength or balance.
If you're not sure whether physiotherapy can help, you can always call us for a quick, confidential chat.
Physiotherapy takes a holistic view looking at the whole person rather than just the problem area.
By using a combination of exercise, manual therapy and other treatments we are able to relieve pain, promote healing and restore movement, strength and function.
Physiotherapy can improve your quality of life, allowing you to resume activities you've been finding hard to manage.
Physiotherapists are qualified medical professionals.
Training is rigorous, including practical experience in hospitals and the completion of an undergraduate degree.
Podiatry deals with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of problems in the foot and lower limb.
It aims to treat injuries, prevent ill-health and relieve pain.
Treatments can range from the prescription of individual orthotic insoles to nail surgery and wound care.
Our specialist podiatry service is provided by Michael Concannon, a key member of our team, who believes in using the most up-to-date methods to deliver the best results for every patient, whatever their age or problem.
Humans are adaptable - sometimes too adaptable - and can easily make adjustments to their stance, gait or seating position to suit their workplace or equipment.
Over time, stresses can develop which may result in pain and discomfort.
Ergonomics looks at the environment, the equipment, working practices and the worker to find solutions to enable people to work in increased comfort.
Whether you're an employer, an employee or self-employed, an ergonomic assessment can have huge benefits.
Simple changes to a workstation, for example, can prevent niggles turning into sick days.
