Services
All our therapists treat many conditions as well as having their own particular interests.
If your therapist feels that you need the particular expertise of another therapist, with your permission, they will be brought into the consultation.
All therapists follow a continual professional development plan in order to maintain their professional competence.
I struggle to believe I qualified more then 30 years ago but I continue to enjoy every aspect of my job including keeping up-to-date with advances in physio.
Pain behind the heel often caused by overuse and/or poor foot position or foot wear.
Often involves disorganisation of the fibres within the tendon and is managed with specific exercises to stimulate remodelling within the tendon.
This is wear and tear of joint surfaces that can cause swelling and pain in varying degrees.
Dizziness is a complex speciality.
It is worth thinking which of these words suits your symptoms best; unsteady, disorientated, unbalanced, light-headed or vertigo.
Vertigo is described as the sensation of motion or movement when you shouldn't have it.
You can be assured of a thorough assessment.
We will endeavour not only to give you a diagnosis of your problem but also to discover why the problem occurred.
All findings will be fully explained by your therapist.
We believe in a 'hands on' approach to treatment and encourage active participation from clients in the form of home exercise programmes and 'self help' regimes.
All the physiotherapists working at the clinic have passed a 3-year Chartered Physiotherapists training and are registered with the Health Professions Council which means they have met the criteria to be fully recognised and have liability insurance from their professional body.
The open reception area and three ground floor treatment rooms are supplemented upstairs by another two treatment rooms and a small exercise area with treatment space.
Reception is manned by Rowena, Martie, Tom or Diane during opening hours but they are occasionally called away from the desk so please be patient if they are unable to answer your call immediately.
Please leave a message and they will always phone you back.
Here we hold various exercise classes throughout the week and offer 1 to 1 and small group post operative & injury recovery programmes.
All physiotherapists in the UK have to be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (or HCPC).
This is a condition of using the title 'physiotherapist' or 'physical therapist', claiming to be an active member of the profession, and practising physiotherapy anywhere in the UK (whether in the NHS or in the independent or other sectors).
The HCPC is an independent, UK-wide health regulator.
It currently regulates thirteen different professions, including physiotherapy.
At the Ashbourne Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Centre we concentrate mainly on musculoskeletal physiotherapy that is the assessment and treatment of soft tissues(muscles, ligaments and tendons), joints and bones.
