Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.
Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.
Physiotherapy is a science-based profession and takes a 'whole person' approach to health and wellbeing, which includes the patient's general lifestyle.
At the core is the patient's involvement in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment.

Hydrotherapy is exercise and mobilisations done in a warm water pool utilising the properties of water to facilitate recovery.
We use the resistance of the water to help strengthen weak muscles, and the bouyancy of water to help mobilise joints, and stretch tight muscles and other soft tissues.
The warmth helps allow for relaxation.
At Balance Health Club we have the ability to use the single depth swimming pool to undertake water based exercise.

Pilates is well known in exercise studios and village halls throughout the country.
It is a form of exercise that looks at improving your posture and core stability, that is, increasing the strength of your back, stomach and pelvic floor muscles.
One of our physiotherapists is trained in the APPI Pilates techniques that have been developed by physiotherapists from the traditional Pilates moves to provide a more clinical approach to using the exercises for people with musculoskeletal problems.
Pilates can be provided on a one-to-one or small group basis at the Balance Health Club Clinic.

We have acces to the pool and gym to help advise on a programme of rehabilitation to ensure that you can try to maintain as much cardio vascular fitness as you can whilst the healing of the affected area occurs.
