Services
Performance Physiotherapy Ltd was formed in Pontypridd in 2003 with the aim of providing high quality private physiotherapy services to clients, through our network of clinics in South Wales.
We are passionate about analysing movement and its relationship to the development of pain.
This approach is at the heart of how we can help you understand and treat your injury and help you stay fitter, performing to your optimum for longer.
All our Physiotherapists have a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience and training.
In order to get to the root of your problem and treat you as an individual, the key is accurate and thorough assessment.
Getting to know you as a person, how your problem affects you in your life; influences our treatment choices and improves the outcomes we acheive with our patients.
Our Physiotherapists will ask you detailed questions about your problem, to find out how it started and how it is affecting your everyday life.
This helps to plan a tailor made assessment comprised of movement analysis, manual assessment and other techniques to design a treatment plan.
Sports injuries commonly occur as a result of direct trauma, overuse or failure as a result of applying force which is greater than our bodies are able to sustain.
We specialise in diagnosing and treating sports injuries, whether they are acute or chronic.
If you have a sports related injury and want expert advice fast we recommend a consultation with one of our specialist Physiotherapists.
We have extensive experience in elite sport from rugby to tennis, volleyball to boxing, whatever the injury, we have the skills to get you back to full fitness fast.
As Physiotherapists we deal with pain on a daily basis.
It is the number 1 reason why people seek treatment from us.
Pain is our Brain's interpretation of threat detected by our nervous system.
Our response and experience of pain is very individual and is heavily influenced by numerous factors such as the type and site of tissue injured, our environment, stress, thoughts of harm created by movement during the healing process, work pressures and these are to name but a few.
Pain we experience from the musculoskeletal system will generally start with detection of an altered state by our nervous system - whether this is from muscle, nerve, bone, connective tissues etc. However the experience we have is dependent on the threat level that our brain awards this altered state.
Sports massage is a form of deep tissue massage to help improve our muscles and connective tissues response to loading following exercise.
As we train for a sport or work in jobs which demands our joints are places in awkward postures, our muscles, overtime may alter their response to loading to help achieve efficiency.
Unfortunately, this is not always a positive thing as our muscular system requires a degree of balance to function optimally, to allow co-ordinated movement for sports and activities of daily living.
