Therapeutic Ultrasound is one of the most commonly used electrotherapy modalities used by Physiotherapists in clinical practice.
The principles behind its effects are based on the delivery of sound wave energy to the target tissue, which will cause it to vibrate and absorb that energy.
Each living tissue and cell has natural energy system and a function to perform within the body.
The aim of ultrasound is to deliver further energy to each tissue to excite and stimulate it.
The excited tissue will perform its function at a higher level of activity and quicker.
Mobilisation can be an oscillatory or sustained stretching movement about a joint or soft tissue.
